- Conference Session Overview
- The 23rd Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury tooke place on Thursday and Friday, April 17 & 18, 2008. The Annual Conference is designed for physicians, psychologists, rehabilitation therapists, social workers, case managers, nurses, educators, special education directors/administrators, mental health and chemical health therapists, residential staff, policy makers, state agency personnel, as well as, program administrators. All interested professionals who serve individuals living with brain injury are welcome to attend.
- Keynote Addresses
- Both Thursday and Friday sessions of the 23rd Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury featured Keynote Addresses:
- Tim Feeney, Executive Director and President of School and Community Support Services in Schenectady, New York, will be presenting the Thursday Keynote Address.
- George Prigatano, from the Department of Clinical Neuropsychology, Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph's Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix, Arizona, will be presenting the Friday Keynote Address.
- Trisha Meili, author of I Am the Central Park Jogger, will be speaking at a special Thursday afternoon presentation. This presentation will also be open to the general public.

- Session Information
- As in previous years, three breakout sessions took place each day, with six presentations taking place during each breakout session. Breakout sessions are scheduled for one hour fifteen minutes each, with a lunch break following the first breakout session of the day, and a break inbetween the two afternoon sessions.
- CME and Continuing Education Credits
- This activity was planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Minnesota Medical Association (MMA) through the joint sponsorship of Hennepin County Medical Center and the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota. Hennepin County Medical Center is accredited by the MMA to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Hennepin County Medical Center designates this educational activity for a maximum of 10.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota is accredited through the Minnesota Department of Health for CEU credits for nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech language therapy. The Association submitted for CRCC, CCMC and CCMSC credits and is an approved Continuing Education Provider for Social Workers.

- Please be responsible for your own comfort during the conference. Layering is recommended given the temperature ranges of large conference center settings.
