Advocacy Matters
There a just a couple weeks left of the 2013 Minnesota Legislative Session! The final weeks are incredibly important because state policymakers will be making final budget decisions and setting the Minnesota state budget for the next two years. There is one more opportunity to join us at the State Capitol and share your experience with brain injury with your state legislators:

2013 Consumer and Family Conference
The Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance is pleased to present two Consumer and Family Conferences this year. Our first conference will be on Saturday, June 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This free one-day conference is an opportunity for individuals with brain injury, family members and loved ones to participate in workshops and sessions that focus on innovations in the world of brain injury care, therapy and rehabilitation.

Minnesota State Rehabilitation Council Seeks Applications for Advocacy Position
The Minnesota State Rehabilitation Council is a citizen advisory council, appointed by the governor, to provide guidance to the state's Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) program. The VR program serves thousands of Minnesotans with disabilities every year, helping to place them in jobs and educational opportunities.

As a council member, you will advise the state on the performance of Minnesota's VR program and assist in the agency's planning. You will report to the governor and the U.S. Department of Education on the status of VR program, coordinate activities with other state councils and participate in forums that guide the state's VR program.
