Speakers Bureau
The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota's Speakers Bureau program offers an opportunity for volunteers who are interested in public speaking and empowerment through education to raise public awareness about brain injury in their own community. We provide the training and presentation materials; volunteers provide time, talent and transportation.
How do I volunteer through the Speakers Bureau program?
People who wish to become a Speakers Bureau Volunteer should have a passion for the mission of the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota to enhance the quality of life and bring the promise of a better tomorrow for all people affected by brain injury. Potential volunteers should also be comfortable with public speaking, dependable, prompt and able to clearly convey the important messages of the presentation.
The first step in joining the Speakers Bureau is to review the volunteer position details, complete the application form and return them to the Association. After submitting the form, the volunteer coordinator will contact you regarding your interest and upcoming training dates.
How do I arrange for a Speakers Bureau volunteer to give a presentation to my organization/group?
An estimated 100,000 Minnesotans live with a disability as a result of brain injury. Despite this startling statistic, many are unaware of brain injury causes, symptoms and prevention. To help raise awareness about this silent health epidemic, the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota has Speakers Bureau representatives who can present to your civic, community, recreational, religious or professional group for free! If you'd like to schedule a presentation about brain injury, please contact the volunteer coordinator at the Brain Injury Association of Minnesota at 800-669-6442.
