Volunteer Committees
The Brain Injury Association of Minnesota has flexible volunteer opportunities for professionals with a variety of skills and interests. There are several committees seeking expertise - from marketing pros to finance wizards to techies. Our committees are great opportunities for working and retired professionals to make a difference for the 100,000 Minnesotans living with disability due to a brain injury. Below are the committees currently with openings.
Multi-Cultural Advisory Committee
We are dedicated to serving all individuals affected by brain injury in a culturally appropriate way. Toward this goal, we are looking for organized team players to join our multi-cultural advisory committees. People with knowledge of/experience with the African American, Native American or African born community are needed to guide the Association's outreach efforts and provide oversight of implementation and development of diverse resources to support individuals with brain injury, their loved ones and professionals within the community.
Committees work to identify needs and barriers to information and services for persons with brain injury, establish networks and promote collaboration with other service providers within underserved communities. Share information about Brain Injury Association of Minnesota services and increase awareness of brain injury within the community. Provide culturally relevant perspective and advice and help develop culturally appropriate materials and services for people with brain injury.
Committee members commit 3-8 hours each month for one year. Most meetings take place in the late afternoon and early evening every other month. Some work is to be done from home or on your own time.
