  1. The MN Brain Injury Alliance has been integral in my recovery following mTBI this summer. My friend and MN Brain Injury Alliance employee, Katrina Meyer, got me connected to Resource Facilitator, Carla. After speaking with various nurse lines through my health insurance, Carla’s phone call was the first that was actually helpful, empathetic, and provided me new, specialized knowledge and a sense of hope. She spent a full hour on the phone with me the fist time we spoke, and this represented the first bright spot in my path to recovery. Every year, I make a donation in the amount equal to the number of holiday cards I send out. This year it was obvious where my donation should go, and your organization is listed as such on my holiday card. I am extremely grateful – thank you.

  11. We live in Wisconsin, but we lived in South St Paul from 2015-2020. I had a major stroke (11/18/2015) and from 2016-18 I had a very special Speech Therapist, Evan Page, who pushed me to get better. My aphasia will always be part of our lives, but we’ve found a way to make things work for us now. We appreciate “Mind Matters” and the articles show that we are not alone. Caregivers, like my amazing wife, Sarah, keep us going forward. Thank you.
