2014 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury
The 2014 Annual Conference for Professionals in Brain Injury will take place on Thursday and Friday, April 10 and 11, at the Earle Brown Heritage Center in Brooklyn Center, Minnesota, and will feature several dynamic speakers who will cover a variety of topics related to community-based, education, cultural and medical aspects of brain injury and stroke care, services and supports.

Join professionals, caregivers, advocates and providers from around the state! Robert L. Karol, PhD, and Charles A. Weinstein, PhD, will deliver the Thursday and Friday morning keynote addresses. Playwright, storyteller and author Kevin Kling will be presenting at the close of the 29th Annual Conference on Friday afternoon.

Advocacy Matters
March is Brain Injury Awareness – a time for brain injury awareness, education and activism. Join fellow Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance Citizen Advocates and advocate with us at the State Capitol this session. We need your help educating state legislators about brain injury. We need your help advocating for public policies that promote better access, and better quality, programs and services for individuals with brain injury and other disabilities.

Youth and Adult Stories Needed for Brain Injury Awareness Month Interviews
If you or someone in your family (child, spouse, sibling) sustained a brain injury in the past five years or so and you have been helped by the Minnesota Brain Injury Alliance or have taken part in our programs or events, we would like to hear from you. We are looking for individuals/families that would be willing to help others by sharing their personal story through media news interviews to bring awareness to brain injury during Brain Injury Awareness Month and beyond. Your story can include personal struggles, current recovery journey, discovering new strengths, doing something to help others, etc. Please send a few paragraphs about your story along with contact information to patm@braininjurymn.org.
